Producer
Fetty-M
Fetty-M, born Marcellus Mackenley, is a Haitian producer, beatmaker, and artist from Arcahaie, Haiti. He left Arcahaie at the age of nine and grew up in the Croix-des-Bouquets area, specifically Jumecourt. In 2022, he returned to Arcahaie, partly because of the insecurity affecting the area where he had been living.
His journey into music began naturally around 2012–2013, influenced heavily by American music and the people around him. At the time, one of his friends was a DJ and regularly had beats on his laptop. Fetty-M became fascinated by the sound and gradually began experimenting with writing and recording music himself.
Without initially planning to become a producer, he discovered that he had a natural ability to write and flow over beats. He began writing complete songs, including verses and hooks, while his DJ partner experimented with recreating beats he found on YouTube. This early experience introduced Fetty-M to the fundamentals of beatmaking and eventually sparked his desire to learn production himself.
Around 2013–2014, Fetty-M began seriously exploring beatmaking with FL Studio, which remains his primary production software to this day. With limited resources and no formal training, he taught himself through countless YouTube tutorials, experimentation, and long nights of practice. He describes himself as an autodidact who spent years learning how to create, arrange, mix, and master music.
His early influences included artists such as Miley Cyrus, Juicy J, Kanye West, Drake, Future, and Young Thug, while producers such as Southside, Metro Boomin, Quay, Juicy J, and Mike Will Made-It helped shape his understanding of production.
Although Trap remains one of his strongest creative spaces, Fetty-M refuses to limit himself to a single sound. He enjoys moving between Trap, Afro, Reggaeton, and other styles, always looking for ways to create something different while keeping the production simple, effective, and impactful.
His philosophy as a producer is centered on versatility and originality. He does not want listeners to hear a beat and immediately know exactly what to expect from him. Instead, he wants every production to feel different while maintaining his own creative touch.
Throughout his career, Fetty-M has had the opportunity to work with artists including ASAP, Dimilom, Percutant, and Tikawo. One of the projects he is most proud of is “Baskile” by Tikawo, a project that represents the producer he always wanted to become: a producer without a predictable sound, capable of creating music that can surprise listeners and challenge their expectations.
Now part of the iPleyMusic Entertainment family, Fetty-M sees the opportunity as a positive environment where young creatives can grow together. He values the energy, youth, and positivity within the team and sees iPleyMusic as a platform where he can continue developing his abilities and introducing new sides of his artistry.
His ambitions are straightforward but ambitious: continue working with more artists, demonstrate his abilities as a producer, and eventually work with some of the biggest names in music. Among his biggest dreams is to produce for Drake or Future within the next five years.
But Fetty-M is more than a beatmaker. He reveals that he was also an artist before becoming more recognized for his production work, and many people may know him from “Hello Fetty on the Track.” He believes there are still many sides of his artistic identity that he has not yet presented to the public.
His message to artists is simple: do what is different, don’t be afraid to take risks, and remember that art has no real limits. For Fetty-M, creativity means continuing to explore, experiment, and find a touch that feels uniquely his own.
As he continues to develop his career, Fetty-M is preparing to reveal more of his artistic world. He believes that with time, growth, and the right environment, he can surprise audiences with sides of himself they never knew existed.
“Fè sa ki diferan. Pa neglije oze, paske art pa gen limit.”
